Hi everyone.....I feel like I know a lot of you, since I've been lurking here for a few weeks. I finally decided to register.
I called myself and older newbie, since I'm a grandmother, collecting for my grandaughter. She's only 3, so she won't be able to play with the dolls I've got for awhile.
I've been making clothes for dolls, especially AG and Bitty for about 5-6 years now, and do all kinds of other sewing. I don't put too many of my things on Ebay, since there is just so much out there. Once in a while if I feel like doing something special, like a fancy dress for Felicity, I'll list, but I sell mostly out of my home, by doing two open houses, one at this time of year, and one in the Spring. From those, I get a mailing list of customers, that I keep in touch with.
I became obsessed with buying the AG dolls, this past year. I had one that I used as a model, and never got into collecting until I had my grandaughter. I now have all of the historicals, and all 3 LE's. My grandaughter has Bitty, which was given to her as a baby gift when she was born, by a friend of mine that knew I made the clothes.
She loves her Bitty, but still isn't old enough to realize you can change the clothes. I have a ton of original outfits for Bitty put away for her, since they keep retiring those so often.
I really look forward to getting new dolls, now that I've started collecting. I anxiously await delivery when expecting one either from AG or from Ebay. They do seem to grow on you. I've started collecting the books, but haven't had a chance to read any of them, yet. Looking forward to that, too.

(We know your GD is just an excuse--these dolls are really for the moms and grandmothers !)
P.S. Sounds like you have a wonderful collection--and of course all your "girls" will be very well-dressed!

Welcome!
Isn't it wonderful to enjoy dolls once again! There are MANY collectors who don't even post on these boards, AND who don't even have daughters and granddaughters. You're in good company!

I've always enjoyed dolls, and making clothes for them. I made all my own doll clothes as a child, from s**** fabric that my mother gave me. She didn't have time to make doll clothes, since she was busy making dresses for my two sisters, and myself, so I made doll clothes for all 3 of us.
My daughter just missed the AG dolls.....she was about 14 before we knew they existed. I still don't think she understands why I feel the need to buy them all. I know I'm only going to have the one grandaughter, so I guess I want them, and I want her to have them.
